Unalone iOS application
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 17 August 2026
The short version: the app collects nothing.
Your data lives on your phone, and we cannot see it. This policy exists to say that carefully. The one exception is this website: if you sign up for the beta, we hold the name and email you typed, and nothing else. That is described in full below.
Information the app collects: none.
Unalone has no user accounts, no registration, and no server that receives your personal information. Everything you enter in the app, including check-ins, logged urges, notes, your covenant, your contacts' names and phone numbers, and your settings, is stored in a local database on your device only. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party by the app.
The website and the beta list.
What we hold. If you submit the beta signup form on this site, we receive and store the name and email address you entered, together with the date you submitted it. We do not ask for, and the form does not collect, anything about your use of pornography, your recovery, your faith, your health, or any other detail about you. Signing up is not a disclosure of anything.
What it is used for. One thing: sending you an invitation to test the app through Apple's TestFlight, and telling you when the beta opens or closes. We do not use it for marketing unrelated to the app, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone except as needed to send you that invitation. Sending a TestFlight invitation necessarily discloses your email address to Apple, which handles it under Apple's own privacy policy.
The video on the landing page. The Unalone page carries a video hosted on YouTube. It does not load until you press play: until then the page requests nothing from YouTube or Google, and the still image you see is part of the page itself. If you do press play, the video is served by YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, and from that point Google receives the request and handles it under their own privacy policy. Not pressing play means nothing is sent.
Where it lives. The form posts what you typed to Formspree, a form-handling service that receives and stores the submission on our behalf as our service provider, and notifies us by email. Their handling of it is governed by their privacy terms and our agreement with them. Squarespace, which hosts this website, does not receive or store the form's contents.
How long, and how to get rid of it. We keep the list only as long as the beta programme needs it, and delete it when the app has launched and the invitations are done. You can have your entry removed at any time, for any reason and without explanation, by emailing support@rscky.com. Ask and it is deleted.
What this does not touch. The beta list is entirely separate from the app. Nothing you enter in the app is connected to it, transmitted to it, or reachable from it. Being on this list does not create an account, and the app has no idea it exists.
Messages. When you use a feature that offers to text someone, Unalone opens your phone's own Messages app with a pre-filled draft addressed to the person you chose. You can edit or discard it. Sending is done by you, through your phone's messaging service, under your carrier's and Apple's terms. Unalone does not send messages on its own and does not see whether you sent one.
Screen Time and blocking. With your permission, Unalone uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) technology to let you block apps and websites you choose. Apple provides these selections to the app as anonymous tokens; the app stores them on your device to maintain your blocking schedule. Unalone does not monitor your browsing, capture your screen, or record what you view. Blocking data never leaves your device.
Notifications. Notifications are generated locally on your device. We do not operate a push notification server.
Analytics and advertising: none. Unalone contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising software of any kind. Apple may provide us aggregated, anonymized statistics (such as number of downloads and crashes) through App Store Connect if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings; this data is collected by Apple under Apple's privacy policy and is never linked to you by us.
Data deletion. Your data is yours. You can erase everything the app has stored at any time in Settings inside the app. Deleting the app from your device also deletes all of its data. Because we keep no copies, deleted data cannot be recovered by us or anyone else.
Children. Unalone is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes. If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date. Because the app itself collects nothing, we expect changes to be rare.
